How Many Treatments Are Required?

At your consultation, Dr. Hoagburg will assess your skin and create a personalized treatment plan, based on your goals. Typically, best results are seen after 3 treatments, although noticeable improvements may be seen in as little as 1 treatment.

Is The Treatment Painful?

Opus Plasma causes significantly less pain than traditional ablative CO2 skin
resurfacing treatments, but some discomfort is still to be expected. Most of our patients rate the procedure a two to four our of ten on the pain scale. Before your treatment, high-strength topical anesthetic will be applied to all treatments areas to minimize any discomfort.

How Long Is The Recovery Time?

Recovery times can vary, depending on your treatment plan. It is common to experience mild to moderate redness and swelling for 24-48 hours. You can wear makeup 24 hours after treatment.

What Is The Aftercare Process for Opus Plasma?

  • Redness: It’s common to feel like you have a sunburn for the first few days following your treatment. This should subside quickly but can last for 5-7 days.  Use a cold compress to ease discomfort
  • Face/Body Wash: Use a mild cleanser, such as Cetaphil, for the first 7 days after treatment on any areas where the treatment was applied. DO NOT use exfoliant scrubs or skin irritants (e.g., peroxides or astringents). Pat your skin try and try to avoid rubbing your face or neck. Also, avoid showering/bathing with very hot water.
  • Lotions: Use hydrating, scent-free lotions, such as Aquaphor, on the treated areas of your skin for the next 7 days to keep your skin moisturized and help the healing process. Avoid hyaluronic acids, retinol, and abrasive scrubs during this time.
  • Activities: Avoid strenuous exercise for the first 2-3 days after treatment and stay out of direct sun exposure in the first 7 days, even if you’re wearing sunscreen.
